Profit for Purpose, a new podcast series from The Real Agenda

Updated: Sep 16, 2019

London: 20 August 2019: The Real Agenda, the podcast for political change, has announced the launch of a new series called Profit for Purpose. This monthly episode is about how success in business can be defined & how to create a more inclusive and sustainable economy, while at the same time make a positive impact on reducing inequality.

In the first episode released today, Tom Burgess, the presenter of The Real Agenda talks to Chris Turner, Executive Director of B Lab UK about how businesses that certify as a B Corporation could help reduce inequality, create a healthier environment, build stronger communities, as well as generate more high quality jobs with dignity and purpose.

Each episode of this new series will include interviews with business leaders, experts, academics and media, up next is Paul Lindley, founder of Ella's Kitchen, the organic baby food company.

Tom Burgess, founder of The Real Agenda said:

“There is an encouraging interest from business to make more of a social commitment and to have a better understanding of the triple bottom line. Also amongst politicians there is concern as how to make capitalism more inclusive and create businesses that really contribute to people’s well-being rather than fuelling greed and wealth extraction through the prime focus on shareholder returns. This series addresses these issues and hope we can will help spread the word”

Profit for Purpose series follows the launch in June of Weekly Wake Up! The podcast that sets off the alarm as to what is really happening. On 17 July, The Real Agenda announced that it would develop the Real Agenda Network of podcasts for political change by partnering with other like-minded campaigning groups. One month later, 10 organisations have agreed or expressed strong interest, which together have a combined online following in excess of 400,000 which is a solid base to build a committed and engaged audience.
